November 7

Bonfire Night has passed now and the excitement lingers on, warmly in our hearts. Bright faces lit by the glow of a crackling, hissing fire; a time to be with friends and family. A time to crunch through black, shiny treacle toffee and warm your hands as you munch through a buttery jacket potato. The whoosh, bang and screams of fireworks enhance the whole atmosphere.

Have you noticed how children’s faces light up on Bonfire Night, not just with the bonfire, but with that inner glow of wonderment and enjoyment for the feast of experience. Would you like to regain that feeling of belonging? Jesus said in Matthew 18:3 : "…I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven…”

Churches are like families; they come together and nurture each other as they grow in faith. This Sunday is Remembrance Sunday, when we think of our extended family; our country and the men and women who have served to maintain freedom. Let God into your life and make a visit. Like a firework on Bonfire Night you will be lighting the touch paper of life and experiencing the explosion of love and belonging.
