`It’s all over’ – famous words by a commentator in one of the most historic games of football of all times when England defeated Germany in the World Cup 1966.
It’s all over. Yes! All the hustle and bustle, parties, stomachache, headache all the glitz and glam, fancy baubles, lights and tree – all packed up and gone away, forgotten for another year. It’s all over – Christmas over and done with again!
But is it really all over? For some indeed the message of Christ-mas can be put away for another year, indeed for some they try very hard to cross out Christ by putting an X there instead. Very apt really for that is indeed why Christ came in the first place – the Messiah – the angel said `You shall call His name Jesus because He will save His people from their sins’. The cross symbolizes just that – the Saviour of the World dying for you and me.
But, when Jesus cried `It’s all over’ it was a cry of TRIUMPH! It’s finished! It’s complete! Accomplished! He’d won the battle! Sin was defeated – hallelujah!
Whilst the Lord Jesus Christ cried `It’s Finished’ it wasn’t a cry of finalization – because He rose from the dead and He is living and still making a difference in people’s lives.
The final cry of `It’s all Over’ will be when the Lord Jesus comes back again – that’s also a reality – one day He will come back – Will you be ready? `It’s all Over’ – it is then!
