August 7

At the moment I am in the process of moving house.  For all those who have experienced this, you will know how stressful it can be.  I have been absolutely amazed at just how much stuff I have accumulated over the years, and shocked to see how much junk I’ve actually kept hold of.  Although pretty stressful, these last few weeks have also contained lots of moments of reflection, as happy memories have been brought to mind as I have found old photographs, letters written years ago, and greeting cards with messages of encouragement.  I have experienced a mixture of emotions, and as I prepare to move onto something else I feel again the same mix of emotions.

New beginnings are always daunting.  Leaving loved ones behind as you venture into a new chapter.  I have had so many happy moments here and met so many fantastic people, which of course makes it all the harder to say goodbye.  There are many uncertainties that lie ahead, but one thing I am absolutely certain of is that God has already gone before me, and he knows what is to come.  I know I can put my trust in him.  Do you know today that there is a God who you can trust?  A God who is more interested in your future then you are?  I hope so, because it really does make a difference.
