January 20 |
As we go
through 2012 we all look forward. Certain events are already mapped
out; our birthday anniversary, exams, etc. One that our nation is
proud to host is the Olympic Games in summer. We have been preparing
for this the last few years.
In the New
Testament Paul writes in Acts 20:24
- However,
I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the
race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of
testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
Here Paul
uses a race as a metaphor for life. To win the race an athlete must
train and work hard to improve. They must prepare themselves for the
coming race and practice doing the right things to achieve the
desired result.
In life we
must do the same. If you wish to find out what Paul means by the
good news of God's grace, come and visit a church near you and
ask.
